The Health Coverage Foundation announced today a one year grant to Community of Hope of $100,000 for outpatient mental health services to low income residents of the District.

Health care providers at Community of Hope expect to use the grant to provide care to over 1,700 additional visits to patients with incomes below 300 percent of the federal poverty level. The grant would allow Community of Hope to grow its mental health program by expanding their specialty staff to include a contract psychiatrist and additional case workers. The clinic will provide a range of psychiatric services on-site such as diagnostic assessment, therapy, and medication therapy to their already diverse patient base. The first check for $50,000 is being delivered today with an interim report due back to the Foundation within six months.
